Brother Blake Fairbairn operates a John Deere 750K XLT bulldozer prepping highway 401 lanes for a widening project in Cambridge.

Part of the Highway 401 expansion project, estimated at $100 million, has Local 793 member Fairbairn prepping the original three eastbound lanes for paving.

The contract looks to widen six lanes to ten, replace the Hespeler Road bridges, and rehabilitate the Townline Road underpass and the Wellington County Road 32 underpass.

These two-tower Debut Waterfront Residences in the heart of Downtown Barrie will reshape the skyline as the first true high-rises in all of Simcoe County.

As the city plans to increase the economy and cultivate a vibrant downtown core, more residential projects will likely keep popping up, intending to enhance Barrie’s urban growth centre.

Brother Synnott hoists pipe/tunnel sections into the shaft by operating a Kobelco CK110G-2, 110-ton crawler crane. The shaft is 36m deep, with the tunnel running at approximately a distance of 160m. The project includes the […]

Local 793 retiree Randy Synnott is on-site installing the new transmission watermain from Letitia St. to Wellington St. in Barrie.

Brother Synnott hoists pipe/tunnel sections into the shaft by operating a Kobelco CK110G-2, 110-ton crawler crane. The shaft is 36m deep, with the tunnel running at approximately a distance of 160m.

The project includes the relocation of the existing storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and distribution watermain impacted by the Ministry of Transportation’s Sunnidale Rd bridge replacement project. The new and relocated watermains will travel under Highway 400 through a new trenchless crossing north of Sunnidale Rd.
