“MY HOPE IS THAT LOCAL 793 BECOMES A LEADER IN HELPING MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES.”– BUSINESS MANAGER, MIKE GALLAGHER
Members,
Local 793 and the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario are working in partnership with De Novo Treatment Centre to conduct research within the construction trades industry regarding addiction and suicide to better identify the causes behind these critical life issues.
Research shows that the rates of addiction and suicide in the construction industry are among the highest across all work sectors. When you add the current and lingering stresses from the COVID-19 pandemic, all of this can take a serious toll on your mental health.
In order to provide effective help, current research is needed to identify some of the main factors causing the high rates of suicide and addiction. To do this, we are asking for your help!
Please complete the survey using the link below. Your participation is voluntary, and all responses are strictly anonymous and confidential.
The survey results will help De Novo Treatment Centre to develop training tools for training centres, unions, and employers to better understand and address addiction and suicide among workers in the industry.
Please complete the survey as soon as you can. The survey ends on July 25, 2021. Please click the link below to start the survey.
