Local 793 Business Manager Mike Gallagher and President Dave Turple welcomed Oakville mayoral candidate Sean O’Meara to our head office on Monday, where he toured the training facilities, met our apprentices and visited the Memorial Garden.
Local 793 has endorsed O’Meara to lead Oakville in the October 26 election.
Brother Gallagher and President Turple told the stories of some of our members who lost their lives on the job and whose names appear on the memorial wall, the tragedies that continue to fuel the union’s fight to improve training and jobsite safety.
O’Meara was able to test his operating skills on our hi-tech training simulators and chatted with some of our crane apprentices and instructors, insisting that under his leadership Oakville will build the roads, bridges and infrastructure the town needs.
