Shawn McLeary
Guard
Shawn started as a member of IUOE Local 793 in 2012 as a tower crane apprentice and obtained his Red Seal 339B licence in 2013. During this period, he worked closely with mechanical engineers, technicians and licenced journeypersons. Shawn went on to work as a licensed tower crane operator in the highrise residential and commercial sectors in Toronto before getting hired by the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 as a business representative in May of 2016. In 2017, Shawn was promoted to Toronto Area ICI Sector Coordinator and in 2022 as the Simcoe Area Coordinator. Shawn was appointed as Guard in December 2023.
