One-time labourer Dylan Swick’s career path took an immediate turn for the better in 2025 when he attended a trade show in his local area and happened upon the OETIO booth.
Having always wanted to operate heavy machinery, he took OETIO’s presence as a sign to start turning his dream into a reality. Once his application was accepted, he joined the Heavy Equipment apprenticeship program at the Morrisburg campus and didn’t look back.
Following his graduation, Dylan said, “I got into the trades when I started this program, and I’ve always known I’ve wanted to be an operator having worked as a labourer in the past. The experience has surpassed my expectations.
“I would tell anyone who is thinking about this course to definitely come and take advantage of all the things you can learn from experienced operators and take in everything you can.”
