Local 793 Business Manager Mike Gallagher, President Dave Turple, OETIO Executive Director Rick Kerr, Director of Training and Apprenticeship Jeff Hewitt, and Toronto Area Supervisor Justin O’Neill returned to Oro-Medonte as work continues on the union’s new $25 million training centre.

Just north of Barrie, the steel frame of the main building is rising fast, thanks to the hard work of our Brothers on site. Among them are Brent and Taite MacDonald, a proud father and son from Oro-Medonte. Their dedication shows the legacy of operating engineers passed from one generation to the next. Brother Jeff Owen is also at the site as the crane operator, helping build the future home of OETIO and Local 793.

The training centre remains on track to open late next year.
