Brothers Joseph Forder (excavator) and Tim Loucks (rock truck) are working for Boyle Excavating at Darlington Nuclear Generating Station for a new world-leading small modular reactor (SMR) project.

The project’s preliminary schedule is to complete the construction of the reactor by 2028, with commercial operation starting in 2029. Once built, the 300-megawatt BWRX-300 SMR could power approximately 300,000 homes and create an estimated 2,500 jobs over its 60-year lifespan.
