36-year member Chief Steward Darrin Thompson and his son, 1st-year Apprentice Mitchell Thompson, along with Operator Curt Newbury, are part of the highly skilled team constructing the Small Modular Reactor-X facility at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station site.
Local 793 members bring world-class talent as they help build North America and the G7’s first Small Modular Reactor. The plant can safely and reliably power 1.2 million homes once all units are completed.
