IUOE Local 793 participated in the seventh annual Touch-a-Truck event on Friday, August 23, in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham.
The event, held outside and around the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, allowed children of all ages to get up close and personal with more than 40 vehicles of all shapes and sizes.
The Operating Engineers have been involved in this event since 2016. Durham Region business representative Ryan Wilbee and Toronto road building business representative Jerry DaSilva were on-hand at this year’s event, assisting visitors who put their skills to the test on an OETIO excavator simulator.
Motor City Crane Rental are also annual supporters of the Touch-a-Truck event. Local 793 members Paul Zwicker and Dallen Rands were on-hand and brought a Terex AC 140 for display and to allow youngsters the opportunity to sit in the cab.
