Local 793 was well-represented at the Toronto St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday, March 20. The celebration of Irish heritage returned to the streets after a two-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re back,” Business Manager Mike Gallagher said. “Finally, after a two-year hiatus, we are back in Toronto with our members and ready to put the pandemic behind us. It’s nice to be out with our masks off, getting fresh air, and getting back to normal.”

More than 900 Union members, staff, and their families registered for the event. Those who marched proudly wore Local 793 green jackets and scarves along the 3.5-kilometre route from Bloor and St. George streets to the parade-reviewing stand at Nathan Phillips Square.

Oakville North-Burlington MP Pam Damoff joined Business Manager Gallagher, President Joe Redshaw, Vice President Dave Turple, Treasurer Rick Kerr, and Recording-Corresponding Secretary Brian Alexander in Sunday’s march.
