Inspectors from Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) spent a day at the Operating Engineers Training Institute of Ontario’s (OETIO) facility in Oakville to receive hands-on training on the fundamentals of safety that apply to inspecting tower and mobile cranes, drill rigs, and the de-rating procedures of mobile cranes. The lessons learned will be used when the MLITSD inspectors visit job sites to ensure the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA) is being followed.

OETIO is a world-class training institute offering crane operator, heavy equipment operator and construction safety training programs in support of the construction industry.
