Falls continue to be one of the leading causes of workplace injuries and fatalities in construction. Training, such as Working at Heights, enables workers to recognize fall hazards and identify and apply fall protection controls, including fall prevention and fall arrest.

In 2015, the Ontario Ministry of Labour introduced the Working at Heights Training Standard, which requires that all workers who use fall protection on a construction project complete an approved working at heights training program under Ontario Regulation 213/19 through an approved provider like OETIO.
