Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced on Wednesday the approval of an additional $1 billion over the next five years into infrastructure in northern and rural Ontario. Funding will focus on building and repairing roads, bridges, and water/wastewater systems. Allocations of the funds will be determined based on each communities’ different economic needs. Starting in 2022, the minimum increase of funding will be $100,000 for all communities per year where the previous minimum was $50,000.
