Workplace injuries can have a serious impact on workers, their families, and their communities. In Ontario, Occupational Safety and Health Day is recognized annually on the first Tuesday of May. This observance was established by the Occupational Safety and Health Day Act, 2021 (Bill 152), which aims to promote safer workplaces through education about safety rights, responsibilities, and injury prevention.

This day also coincides with North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week, a broader initiative that raises awareness about workplace safety, health, and environmental practices to help prevent injuries and illnesses on the job.

Local 793 stands firmly behind this mission, demonstrating our union’s unwavering commitment to protecting every worker in Ontario.
