Every year, workers are injured while getting on or off heavy equipment. According to Ontario’s Construction Projects regulation (O. Reg. 213/91, s. 98), all construction equipment must have a safe and secure way to access the operator’s station. This includes skid-resistant surfaces for walking, climbing, and working.
Make sure your equipment meets these legal requirements. Keep running boards, steps, footholds, and platforms free from mud, ice, snow, grease, debris, and anything else that could cause a slip or fall.
