OETIO welcomed Candice White, chief executive officer and registrar of Skilled Trades Ontario (STO), and Dave Cassidy, skilled trades partnership advisor for STO, to the Morrisburg campus recently.
The pair met Heavy Equipment Apprentices and Pre-Apprentices in the field and classrooms during a tour of the facility, while White also tried her hand at operating a mechanical simulator. Later, White addressed all our Apprentices in the auditorium, explaining the role of STO and outlining the support the organization can offer them throughout their apprenticeship journeys.
OETIO Executive Director Rick Kerr, Director of Training and Apprenticeship (Morrisburg) Rod McKenzie, Director of Training and Apprenticeship (Oakville) Jeff Hewitt and Supervisor Greg Runions also met separately with White and Cassidy to provide their feedback and make recommendations for STO.
