A recent study from the Illinois Economic Policy Institute found that graduates of union apprenticeship programs in the construction industry on average achieve nearly equal wages and benefits as other workers with a four-year university bachelor’s degree.
The study also found that non-union apprenticeship programs earned an average of $18,300 less per year than their unionized counterparts.
