By members telling the federal government to follow through on their campaign commitment and implement a skilled trades labour mobility tax deduction for out-of-pocket expenses when travelling for work, you can help get the tax rules changed.

The cost to travel for work (mileage, accommodations, food, etc.) aren’t tax deductible and aren’t always covered by your employer. When costs aren’t covered by your employer, skilled trades workers, like Local 793 members, should receive equal treatment under the Tax Act. This means keeping more money in your pocket.

What to do:

It’s easy and takes less than 2 minutes. A letter of support has already been drafted for you by Canada’s Building Trades Unions. CLICK HERE to send a clear message to your Member of Parliament that you support a Skilled Trades Workforce Mobility Tax Deduction.

Please share this letter campaign with your Brothers and Sisters and encourage them to participate.
