Local 793 Members Work on QEW Road Sign Install

Brothers Jeff Owen, mobile crane operator, and Jackson Huibers, apprentice, install an overhead road sign on the eastbound Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW). Three lanes on the QEW, from Dixie Road to West Mall Bridge, were closed for the installation. Heat warnings have been issued, stretching from Windsor and the United States border in the west across into Quebec. The ‘multi-day heat event’ is expected to last until Thursday across Ontario. Local 793 operators and employers should prepare beforehand, recognize symptoms of heat-related illnesses and know how to treat them when problems arise.
