Eric Giroux

Eric Giroux is a red seal 636B heavy equipment operator. He followed in his father’s footsteps in becoming an operating engineer and in 1993, became a member of the Local 793. Eric’s son, Cody, is a third-generation operator and is also a member of Local 793. In 2006, Eric was hired as an organizer for the Sudbury area and in 2010, he became business representative in the Sudbury/Timmins area. In 2019, he became a site rep at Baffinland Iron Mines in Nunavut and came back to Ontario in 2021 as lead organizer for northern Ontario. Eric was appointed guard in May 2022 and in June of that same year, he was appointed northeastern area supervisor.
