Brian Alexander
Financial Secretary
Brian Alexander was appointed as OEBAC’s executive director in December 2023 following sixteen months of serving as OEBAC’s Manager of Operations. Brian is well diversified in all aspects of Local 793’s operations having served as OETIO’s director of training and apprenticeship, assistant director of training and apprenticeship, assistant labour relations manager, and as a Toronto area business representative dating back to March 2008. Brian has served on the Provincial Section 21 construction labour-management health and safety committee, the Construction Legislative Review Committee, the IHSA’s hoisting and civil engineering labour-management committees as well as the CSA safety standards committees for mobile cranes, concrete pumps and construction hoists. He is the past vice president of the Operating Engineers Local 793 Non-Profit Housing Corporation and has served on several Local 793 committees including the insurance committee, Jack Redshaw Scholarship Fund committee, and the Kyle Knox Memorial Award committee. Brian was appointed as an auditor in March 2011, appointed to the executive board in October 2011, appointed as recording-corresponding secretary in January 2014 and was subsequently appointed to financial secretary in June 2022. Brian has served as a trustee of Local 793’s Life & Health Benefits Plan and currently serves as a trustee of the Local 793 Pension Trust. Brian has a Bachelor of Commerce honours degree from the University of Guelph. He is a second-generation operating engineer, married and a proud father of two boys.
