September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. This is a day to reflect and honour the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities across Canada. It is a day to remember the role that all of us have as a country, as organizations, and as individuals in advancing reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
We encourage all of our members to take the time to learn about the significance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and learn about the history of Orange Shirt Day.
We stand with our Indigenous Brothers and Sisters by echoing their call that “Every Child Matters.”
