Brother Thomas Brannan reps IUOE 100th anniversary merch while operating a 30-ton overhead crane to hoist out a flask at Darlington Nuclear Generating Station in Bowmanville.

This job for the nuclear station’s refurbishment project included extracting flasks weighing approximately 30 thousand pounds that contain the calandra tubes/ pressure tubes. The process has evolved by removing the unit in one piece rather than the previous method of extracting the tubes separately.

Members constantly communicated with the other trades via radio to perform a safe removal.
