Steve Charpentier, employed by Brennan Paving, is a Local 793 heavy equipment operator (HEO) apprentice. He has been running a CAT D6T dozer on the $65 million road reconstruction project in Oshawa since last summer. Steve is filled with pride as he approaches the completion of his apprenticeship.

The scope of work includes replacing overpass structures along Simcoe St. S and Albert St. over Highway 401, shoulder widening and rehabilitation of Highway 401 through Oshawa, construction of a cul-de-sac along Lviv Blvd., and reconstruction of the Lviv Blvd. and Albert St. and Bloor St. and Simcoe St. S intersections. New storm sewers and water mains will also be installed, and the Michael Starr Trail multi-use pathway will be re-aligned.

The expected completion date of all construction works is November 2024.

This project continuously supports signatory contractors, including Amherst, BW Haggard, and BAUER Foundations.
